Instrument "Petting Zoo" May 21 at BMS

Our music department invites you to attend our instrument “petting zoo” on Tuesday, May 21st in the Beverly Middle School 1st floor cafeteria. The event is a come-and-go event, so please feel free to stop by any time between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. that evening. This will be a great evening for your students to come try out the instrument options for band and strings that we offer here at BMS! We will also be hosting two short informational sessions that evening in the middle school auditorium, one at 6:15 p.m. and one at 7:15 p.m.

This event is open to students currently in 4th through 7th grade (but if you know any students who will be going into high school and would like to join band or strings, they're also welcome to come by!) Even if your student is in middle school and has never played an instrument before, they can still join strings or band!* There is no expectation of commitment if your student comes to try the instruments out, but it will be a great chance for them to see if any of the instruments seem fun for them. You’ll get a chance to meet the band and strings teachers, as well as some of our current student musician helpers.

If your student is joining a group for the first time, they may only pick ONE of the groups. After students have been in one ensemble for a year or more, they may choose to add a second ensemble to "double" in.
Incoming 5th graders will only be able to choose one ensemble this year even if they were in strings this year as a 4th grader.

More information about each instrument can be found at this link.
If you would like to sign your student up for an ensemble for next year, please visit this link.
