BMS Music Performance Ensemble Signups

Dear families of incoming grade 5-8 students,

One of the many great opportunities that students have at Beverly Public Schools is the ability to participate in the Music Performance Ensembles: Chorus, Band, and String Orchestra. Each group performs several concerts throughout the year, plays for many school and civic events, and even takes exciting field trips to different locations for competitions and community outreach. Middle School students who join the Music Performance Ensembles do not need any prior musical experience- it is never too late to join!

Band, Chorus, and String Orchestra are all considered academic courses that occur during the school day, so students earn a grade for participating. These courses are all year-long classes so students would be committing to the ensemble for the school year if they choose to join.

Students can sign up for up to two performing ensembles if they have had experience in at least one of the groups previously (this includes incoming 5th graders who participated in strings this past year). In order to build the necessary skills to be as successful as possible, we ask that students who are completely new to the ensembles this coming year choose only one.

If your student is interested in becoming a member of any of the Performing Ensembles, please fill out this Google Form to sign them up.
