Resident Reps to Beverly School Committee

Individuals interested in serving in a regular, significant role reviewing/developing policy and providing oversight of our public schools may consider serving as a resident representative on one of our standing committees.

The School Committee has two standing committees made up of school committee members, district staff, and resident representatives, as well as students.  The Standing Committee on Curriculum, Instruction and Student Life (CISL) regularly reviews curriculum program information and student achievement data.  The Standing Committee on Finance and Facilities (F&F) reviews school related revenues and expenses, as well as the current and future state of district facilities.

Each group provides oversight with the help of resident representatives, and for CISL, with student input; recommendations from standing committees are shared to the full School Committee, which is responsible for final action, if required.  Please email [email protected] and put RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE in the subject line.  Include your home address, your email and phone number, and a brief description of why you would like to serve.

The expectation is to attend the meetings once per month in person at Beverly Middle School.  A more extensive primer is located by clicking here.
