Gr 8 Civic Action Project Kickoff

On Monday, Feb. 2, BMS 8th graders had an assembly to kick off this year's Civic Action Project. Beverly City Council President Julie Flowers was present, along with School Committee President Lorinda Visnick and Amelia Bolvin, who is in charge of Mayor Cahill's Constituent Services. Students heard from them about their jobs and why they serve, and also heard from a range of other local elected officials through videos they sent, including State Senator Joan Lovely.

Ask your 8th grader about it and about what they may be interested in doing their project about! This is something that all 8th graders in public school in Massachusetts do.
